Production on the Wonder Man series for the MCU has reportedly started.
Pre-production for Marvel’s new television series Wonder Man has started taking shape recently.
The main characters have been cast, including Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s Simon Williams, the protagonist. Characters like the Grim Reaper and Trevor Slatter have also been teased as potential appearances.

Wonder Man is currently being filmed.
Producer of Wonder Man Destin Daniel Cretton, who also helmed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and will lead Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, said via an Instagram post that the MCU series has begun principal photography. Check out the photo he posted of himself standing in front of the famous Hollywood sign while carrying a color rendition chart:
Cretton tagged Brett Pawlak, the series director, in the tweet “I adore holding cards for @brettsbo.”
What’s the story behind Wonder Man?
The Wonder Man adaptation for the MCU is not well known, although Simon Williams will undoubtedly be the series’ main subject. In comic books, Simon is a well-known actor who possesses a variety of superpowers, such as flying, superhuman strength, and control over ionic energy.
Ed Harris, a veteran of the Hollywood industry, will play Williams’ agent in the Disney+ series. And Demetrius Grosse, who will resurrect Eric, also known as the Grim Reaper, is the evil double of Simon.
In addition, Ben Kingsley will return to the series as Trevor Slattery from Iron Man 3 and Shang-Chi. Renowned German documentarian Werner Herzog is also said to be up for a role in the series.
Although the series is said to take the style of a Hollywood satire, the tone is anticipated to be rather comic.
Wonder Man from Marvel Studios doesn’t yet have a set release date, but now that filming has started, it might air in 2024 or 2025.
