When does Moon Knight season 2 fit into MCU phases 6–7?

When would a possible second season of Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight fit into the MCU?

One of the best-received streaming shows from Marvel Studios is the Disney+ series. Even its first season ended on a huge cliffhanger that warrants further investigation. However, there are no clues as to when viewers will get another chance to see the hero Isaac.

Although there have been many rumors about the second season, the star admitted that “[they] don’t know” if there will be more episodes.

When will Moon Knight season 2 be released?

Marvel Studios has yet to confirm a release date for Moon Knight Season 2, and therefore a release date has not been set. However, the release window can be condensed with a look at the MCU’s plans for the next few years, as well as rumors and reports.

By far the least likely possibility for a Moon Knight season 2 is for it to release anytime in 2024. Marvel Studios wouldn’t be able to pull it off and put it on the slate, even if production started immediately.

The first is that Marvel Studios has yet to officially announce a second season. Second, if it’s expected to air on Disney+ in early 2024, filming should be right around the corner because it looks like it hasn’t started yet.

And not to add, the MCU Disney+ 2019 release schedule is already complete. In that time frame, Ironheart, Agatha: Coven of Chaos, and the 18-episode Daredevil: Born Again are all expected to premiere, filling more than half of the year with weekly releases.

This doesn’t even include the Echo, which could be added if the project doesn’t launch by the end of 2023, although the latest update shows encouraging signs in this regard.

Release Option 1: Moon Knight Rounds 2024

The latter part of 2024 is likely to be the logistically earliest possible release date for Moon Knight season 2. However, that would require production to begin immediately, of which there is no evidence at this time.

Along with the previously revealed 2024 schedule, Marvel Studios will also be bringing Wonder Man to Disney+. Considering that the production of Wonder Man has already begun, it seems that this spin-off will be released long before Moon Knight Season 2.

So even if a Moon Knight sequel goes into production immediately, there won’t be room for a timeline until at least 2025.

Release Option 2: Moon Knight goes back in time for Avengers 5

The inclusion of Kang Variant Rama-Tut in the highly anticipated second season is one of the most persistent speculations. As an Egyptian pharaoh, the character was briefly seen in a post-credits scene in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, making the connection to Marc Spector’s story simple.

Kang’s involvement in events could be a great way to increase interest in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. After Season 1 was one of the more standalone episodes of the series, it could be a perfect way to integrate Moon Knight into the larger MCU story.

In light of this, Moon Knight season 2 would make sense from a narrative perspective before Avengers 5 in early 2025. From a practical standpoint, this would also be more likely, giving the project two years to develop.

Also, the Disney+ slate becomes significantly less complete come 2025 and Phase 6 because, despite reports of other projects in development, Marvel Studios only made most of its work official until the end of Phase 4.

Marvel Studios reportedly wants to release season 2 before The Kang Dynasty, which is currently scheduled to premiere on May 2, 2025, but many are hoping that date will be pushed back.

Release Option 3: Moon Knight Season 2 option bridges the gap between Avengers 5 and 6.

There’s no word yet on what the Kang Dynasty means for the MCU. With that being said, it’s impossible to predict how the Marvel universe will change between Avengers issues 5 and 6.

Battleworld, which is basically a patchwork existence made up of different parallel realities, will be explored in the projects that emerge between the blockbusters, according to the expectations of many fans and some of the rumors that have surfaced. The idea served as the primary inspiration for the comic book adaptation of the 2015 narrative, which remains a fan favorite.

One of these planets may have an Egyptian motif, with Rama-Tut ruling its inhabitants and Moon Knight acting as a powerful defender.

Release Option 4: Delay the start of Moon Knight Season 2 until Phase 7

Waiting until Phase 7 begins will be the least likely course of action once Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars launch.

First of all, it would be strange to release the second season after the enemy was so clearly defeated, especially given the widespread allegations about Kang’s involvement.

Many believe the show needs another season before Moon Knight can be included in those major crossover events. If he didn’t continue until after this, then this development wouldn’t have any chance of taking place.

Disney+ MCU Second Season Trend?

Rama-Tut could be a logical continuation of Moon Knight’s journey after the Kang variant was hinted at in season 1 and offers a perfect approach to integrating Marc Spector into the overall MCU plot.

Currently, the best time for Marvel to release a second season is probably during Phase 6. The MCU has to start dealing with the rise of mutants by the time Phase 7 rolls around.

According to the MCU’s current schedule, Season 2 should air between 2025 and 2026, possibly sooner if reports of it debuting before The Kang Dynasty are accurate. However, as the release schedule for the remaining Multiverse Saga books changes, this window could easily change and grow.

Hopefully, Marvel will reveal the existence of a second season as soon as possible. As of now, Loki is the only Disney+ live-action series from the Marvel Cinematic Universe to receive a second season.

Ms. Marvel fans are also eagerly awaiting the next installment, arriving on The Marvels in 2023. Iman Villani’s New Jersey Shenanigans does not currently have a projected release date.
