Spider-Man 4 Plans Discussed By Tom Holland
Tom Holland, who plays Peter Parker in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, discussed Spider-Man 4 with Inverse during their chat, and he had some interesting things to say about the movie’s plot.
The British actor said the narrative of the Spider-Man: No Way Home sequel is “beautiful” and that he is “thrilled” that “some things” are happening.
However, Holland expressed some skepticism about the film’s potential release, “whether it works out or not:”
“Who knows if it will happen or not? Things are looking promising now though, so we’ll just have to wait and see.”
Speaking with Yahoo, the future of Holland’s Spider-Man was also questioned. The “Fifth Argument:”
Since I’m not ready to discuss the future of Spider-Man, I’ll have to invoke the Fifth Amendment there.
The British actor clarified that any future heroic outings depended on finding a new story to “do it justice,” adding that Spider-Man 4 would only be considered if he could “find a way to compete” with No Way Home.
Everyone knows that I adore him. It influenced my way of living. I adore the protagonist. If we can describe his story in a way that does it justice, we will. But if we can’t find a way to make it or outrun the third, you know he’ll ride into the sunset.
The Spider-Man actor praised the work his agents have done over the past ten years but said he is “the luckiest kid alive” and “has no complaints” if he continues to play the wall-crawler. The remaining days of him:
“Over the last ten years, I think my agents and I have done an amazing job in the industry. That being said, I’ll be the lucky kid to be alive if I spend the rest of my life as Spider-Man. There’s nothing to complain about .”
What is the story of Spider-Man 4?
Kevin Feige previously said that Peter Parker will join the MCU’s “street level heroes” after Spider-Man’s multiversal mission in Spider-Man: No Way Home. As a result, Spider-Man 4 is expected to be a more intimate production with more emphasis on protecting the streets of New York than dealing with outside dangers.
One rumor is that the narrative at the street level may focus on the sequels to Daredevil: Born Again. Rumor has it that Spider-Man 4 will be particularly influenced by the Kingpin’s mayoral run on the Disney+ series, as the crime lord-turned-politician leads anti-surveillance efforts.
Spider-Man 4 is rumored to be released on July 12, 2024, by Sony and Marvel Studios. However, even if those reports are accurate, the chances of that happening are slim as the writers’ strike appears to have stalled progress.
In his latest comments on Spider-Man 4’s December 2022 release, Tom Holland made it clear that he “doesn’t know” when audiences can expect to see the movie. Given the MCU’s packed schedule and the length of the writers’ strike, the movie could be released in the summer of 2025.
While Tom Holland and Zendaya are expected to return, while Jon Watts is slated to take over directing duties after helming the last three installments in the franchise, no formal information is available and a release date hasn’t been confirmed.
