Spider-Man: No Way Home Review
Marvel

In this climactic episode of Tom Holland’s incarnation, the web-slinger delivers an overflowing, funnel-web cornucopia of treats for spider fans. But amid the many references to Spidey’s past, 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse is the key influence shaping the future of the franchise. While that thrilling invention is an animated stand-alone film from the Spider-canon — a neat, conceptually neat thing compared to the noisy, more-is-more approach of No Way Home — here, director John Watts uses the “multiverse” and the idea. Makes it work satisfactorily in service of the live-action version of Spider-Saga. It’s very meta and self-referential; Screenwriters Chris McKenna and Eric Sommers compile memorable lines from past films and present the audience with a rich and exaggerated wink. It’s also good fun. Must Read Spider-Man: Far From Home Review, Cast, And Summary

2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home; A dying Mysterio leaks the identity of the boy under the lycra. Thanks to social media-fueled skepticism and conspiracy theories, Peter Parker’s name is in the mud. He enlists the help of Doctor Strange and discovers that while Benedict Cumberbatch’s character is capable of magic, sarcasm remains his superpower. Meanwhile, Parker’s pleas for his loving, puppy-like enthusiasm continue. And for all the Avengers: Endgame-style effects and action here, it’s Spidey’s cuteness that’s its USP.
