Sinister Six in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 3?
After years of planning and several attempts by Sony Pictures, the Sinister Six may be on their way to appearing in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.
miles g The book describes “how the Sinister Six were able to prosper and conquer the world” on Earth-42, where Morales/The Prowler lives with his uncle Aaron Davis as one of the only heroes.
Spider-Verse 2 director Justin K. Thompson said that given the way “crime spreads” in this dimension, the creative team intended Earth-42 Miles to be one of the good guys:
“Filled with crime. We wanted to establish a universe where Earth-42’s Aaron and Miles G. Morales (the reality equivalent of Miles Morales) felt like the same heroes.”
What will the Sinister Six bring to Spider-Verse 3?
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 contained references to the Sinister Six, while Spider-Man: No Way Home featured a plot involving five villains of multiversal heritage. Sony has been open about its efforts to bring the Sinister Six to the big screen.
Even the idea of using Venom as the sixth antagonist in No Way Home was considered at one point, but those ideas were shelved before they were fully realized.
At this point, it looks like they’ll be at least superficially involved in the story of Spider-Verse 3 when the two Miles crash into each other on Earth-42.
Plus, with Jason Schwartzman’s announced plans to continue his own spree, this new Sinister Six will deepen Miles’ fight for all of existence.
Across the Spider-Verse, starring Spider-Man is currently in theaters. The current release date for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is March 29, 2024.
