Wade Wilson, played by Ryan Reynolds, will need a new outfit for Deadpool 3, and recent images of the red and black outfit reveal that there will be some changes.
For Marvel fans, Deadpool 3 will be a landmark event as he finally tries to reunite the MCU with 20th Century Fox’s X-Men. As the lovable mercenary with the mouth, Reynolds is in charge of the action and brings Hugh Jackman Wolverine with him.
Fans have been anticipating Deadpool 3 with each new leaked image, which has hinted at anything from Hugh Jackman‘s Wolverine in his recognizable yellow X-Men uniform to an apocalyptic 20th Century Fox.
Fans may remember that by the end of his run, Deadpool’s suit was so tattered, burned at the seams, that it was only held together with duct tape.
1. Redder, Better Clothes for Deadpool 3
Wade Wilson claims that the evil men dressed him in red to prevent him from bleeding. Looking at his Deadpool 3 costume, he’s the reddest there’s ever been and it’s very unsettling.
Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine is finally shown wearing his bright yellow suit in recently released photos. Fans can expect the costume to appear in the upcoming X-Men ’97 Disney+ series.
If Jackman’s Wolverine is related to the X-Men ’97 TV series, Deadpool could travel there and have a more cartoony makeover.
We can only believe the latter, as the former implies that Ryan Reynolds is about to take an even worse beating.
2. Deadpool’s New Breastplate
Deadpool’s suit armor is divided into two protective parts, which are connected by straps that stretch across his chest. The images also show reinforced straps holding up his torso on each side of the dress.
Compared to the all-leather aesthetic of the first two films, the suit’s revamped chest gives the Merc a bit more access and flexibility. In close combat and when Ryan Reynolds wields two katanas, this can help him (and double him).
Since the suit was torn to shreds in the last movie, the straps that run down the sides of the suit help keep it in place. Hopefully these changes will help keep Deadpool in one place when he’s faced with any threat, like Firefist or Juggernaut’s fireballs practically ripping him in half.

3. A touch of gold in Deadpool
The subtle elements of Deadpool’s design strongly suggest that he has a military and tactical background. Gun holsters strapped to the killer’s legs are one of the easiest ways for viewers to identify this.
The straps that Wade Wilson’s weapons carry in the new Deadpool 3 movies now fasten with gold buckles instead of the plastic tacks, a slight tweak to this design.
This transformation will have access to more advanced weapons with the help of Deadpool Cable. It could also hint at the X-Men’s entry into the MCU, along with the traditional gold highlights. After all, Wolverine’s yellow outfit isn’t the only reference to mutants in the Merc with a Mouth third part.
4. This time, Deadpool is foolproof
Marvel Comics devotees will be pleased to note that Wade Wilson’s belt buckle now features the recognizable Deadpool logo.
Deadpool’s traditional symbol on his utility belt was covered up more subtly in the first two movies, but Deadpool 3 will make the mark of the regenerating degenerate more obvious.
If anyone was wondering who that mysterious red-masked assassin was making scathing comments about while murdering all those damn people, we hope you got a good look at his belt.
Deadpool 3 is scheduled to release on May 3, 2024.
