Ryan Gosling, a fan favorite, is reportedly on Marvel Studios’ radar as it seeks to cast the starring quartet of actors for the Fantastic Four in the MCU.
Gosling has long been rumored to join the MCU, with potential roles including Sentry and Nova as the franchise moves deeper into the Multiverse Saga. The Oscar-nominated actor has been quick to dispel those reports, although he has expressed hopes to eventually join the franchise, identifying Ghost Rider as a role he’d love to portray.
Marvel Studios, on the other hand, has a lot of casting to go for several projects in Phases 5 and 6, most notably the impending Fantastic Four relaunch. The anticipation for Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm to ultimately join the MCU has led to an explosion in interest in Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm casting ideas over the past few years.
Now, if a recent report is accurate, Gosling may stand a decent chance of landing one of those highly sought-after parts.

Is Ryan Gosling a Potential Candidate for the Fantastic Four Reboot?
Insider Jeff Sneider mentioned a rumor regarding Ryan Gosling’s potential casting in Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four while speaking on The Hot Mic show. Sneider briefly mentioned that he had “heard” rumors that Ryan Gosling was being considered for the 2025 film, though he didn’t say for which role.
This follows a previous rumor that said he was in the running to play Sentry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a role the character is purportedly poised to play as an antagonist in Thunderbolts.
In Fantastic Four, who could Ryan Gosling play?
Regardless of what Fantastic Four part he may be reported for, signing someone of Ryan Gosling’s caliber would be a tremendous coup for the MCU. The big question is now who he would play in the movie, and a few important personalities stand out.
In the Multiverse Saga and beyond, Reed Richards will be one of the most significant starring characters in the MCU, and Ryan Gosling is undoubtedly qualified to play the part. Adam Driver, who plays Kylo Ren in the movie Kylo Ren, is reportedly Marvel’s preferred choice to play Mr. Fantastic, although Ryan Gosling would not be a bad backup choice if Driver were to be unavailable.
The possibility of Ryan Gosling portraying the Silver Surfer, a character for whom Marvel is said to have ambitious aspirations, is even more interesting.
Before the Fantastic Four take their position in the MCU story, The Herald of Galactus is reported to be in line for his own Special Presentation on Disney+, presenting this incredibly strong hero. This would provide Gosling the option to have his own project in the streaming sector before appearing in a Marvel Studios film for the big screen, and it would also give him the ability to portray a role that many people are eager to see fight alongside the Avengers and other MCU icons.
It might take some time before Gosling is confirmed for the film, which would only be the case if this report turns out to be real, as Fantastic Four is still not scheduled to hit theatres for more than two years. But if it happens, it would only increase demand for the film because these four actors are trying to establish themselves alongside Marvel Studios’ biggest stars.
