Both Kathryn Newton and Xochitl Gomez offered some helpful advice from seasoned members of the Marvel Studios team, including Paul Rudd from Ant-Man.
Marvel began introducing some fresh, young characters to the globe with Phase 4. This includes the young prodigy Riri William, the master archer Kate Bishop from Hawkeye, America Chavez from Gomez, and Wanda’s young children.
Next, in just a few short weeks, Kathryn Newton will play the mature Cassie Lang in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
The actor previously discussed her similarities to Cassie Lang, even mentioning how she and Stature are both “truly not flawless,” but still “want to be a hero.”
The actress has shared some advice provided to her about performing and being yourself while associated with the Marvel Cinematic Universe ahead of her on-screen debut.

Advice from Paul Rudd to Kathryn Newton
Kathryn Newton, who co-starred with Paul Rudd in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, recently spoke with The Wrap on his advice for collaborating with Marvel Studios.
He advised her never to “hold back,” and she said she “[shouldn’t] end this movie and wish that [she] hadn’t tried that joke:”
“You know, we just clicked with Cassie and Scott right away. Paul was performing some improv during our rehearsing sessions, and I would occasionally join him. Once filming began, we shot a few sequences with Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Evangeline Lilly while Paul and I were taking a break. Listen, I can tell you’re funny, he said. Just don’t be timid. If I could give you one piece of advice, avoid watching the entire movie and wishing you hadn’t tried that joke. Just don’t hold back; execute everything. He responds, “It’s a movie.” In the end, if it’s not hilarious, they’ll cut it, and if it is, they might use it. And I thought, “Really? On a Marvel film, are there things you can try? And he replies, “Yes.
Xochitl Gomez, who played America Chavez in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, discussed her participation in the MCU and claimed that Benedict Wong frequently checked in on her while filming:
Literally from the first day, he was always there for me… and he says, “I am here for everything you need.” He is something similar to that. Just a very kind and sincere individual. And I sincerely hope that we can continue to collaborate. He is really amazing.
Elizabeth Olsen and Benedict Cumberbatch both coached Gomez, and Olsen was the one who made it plain that “Marvel wants [her] feedback:”
“Well, [Elizabeth Olsen] was the one who informed me that Marvel is interested in hearing from me. And don’t be afraid to share thoughts… I occasionally did it. And it would be absolutely wild if we could actually film a concept I had.
The New Generation of Marvel
Hearing about how the MCU’s venerable performers assist the newcomers in becoming acclimated to the massive operation that is Marvel Studios never gets old.
Even Iron Man has found himself in the situation of advising a rookie superhero, telling Dominque Thorne that her Riri Williams character “is and should always be her own person.”
The next stage with all these fresh faces is to actually put them on screen together. In other words, where is the crossover between the Young Avengers? These new cast members aren’t getting any younger, after all.
There have been numerous theories suggesting that Quantumania may contain important Young Avengers cameos or setups. But none of it has been confirmed, so it’s still just conjecture.
Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan appears to be the first to receive a significant crossover. It won’t involve younger heroes, though. Instead, when The Marvels reaches theaters on July 28, she will battle alongside Monica Rambeau’s Spectrum and Carol Danvers’ Captain Marvel.
For Cassie Lang, perhaps Quantumania on February 17 is just the start of her journey, and sooner rather than later she’ll be a member of something like the Young Avengers.
