Paul Rudd Discusses the Potential of Avengers 5

In Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Scott Lang, played by Paul Rudd, may have his hands full with Kang the Conqueror, but it didn’t stop the MCU star from discussing Scott Lang’s destiny and the Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.

Phase 5 is about to begin in earnest with the publication of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Marvel Studios just unveiled a clip featuring both Scott and Kang from the upcoming movie in order to get fans ready. However, many fans expressed concern for Scott, fearing that he would not make it through his subsequent battle with a figure who has been dubbed the MCU’s most potent enemy.

Who will be a part of the Avengers when Avengers 5 reaches theaters on May 2, 2025, has recently become a huge contention among MCU fans. It appears that Rudd has his own opinion and ideas about where he wants his character to go in the future.

Paul Rudd, a seasoned member of the MCU, opened up in an interview with Empire Magazine about his plans for the series beyond Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.

Rudd responded that “it feels like” the heroes are “in way over their heads” when questioned about Scott facing up against one of the MCU’s most terrifying characters:

“Scott and Hope are being placed in a scenario that makes them feel out of their depth. How is it possible that things will turn out well?”

The Ant-Man star then said, “I think there’s more story to tell here,” which appears to hint that his character will at least survive in Quantumania.

It is crucial to keep in mind that Scott will be the first MCU character to interact with Kang the Conqueror, which may help him be an asset when the Avengers clash with him in The Kang Dynasty.

Although Rudd claims to be unaware of the subject, it appears that the actual cast of characters that Rudd’s Ant-Man might possibly lead in Avengers 5 is still shrouded in secrecy:

They are speaking in locations to which I do not have the keys.

First off, it appears that by hinting that his character would have “another tale to tell” in the MCU, Paul Rudd may have just revealed the resolution of Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania.

However, there are a few individuals that will very certainly be in Avengers 5 for Ant-Man to lead if he manages to escape Kang the Conqueror’s control.

The first that comes to me is Kate Bishop, played by Hailee Steinfeld. After being taken under the wing of one of the founding members of the Avengers, Hawkeye set her up to become a genuine hero in the MCU’s future.

Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi is another newcomer to the MCU who has already demonstrated their abilities and gained the respect of heroes like Wong and Captain Marvel. His expertise in hand-to-hand combat is unmatched, and given his difficult upbringing, he will be a huge aid to the Avengers when they battle Kang.

It is hard to discuss Earth’s Mightiest Heroes without mentioning Ms. Marvel, created by Iman Vellani. She made her MCU debut in the self-titled Disney+ series, revealing that she is the first mutant in the franchise, a distinction that will undoubtedly be important in the future.

Even though each of these individuals is distinct from the others, they are all more than capable of cooperating to defeat Kang the Conqueror. There are undoubtedly more individuals that will appear in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, but for a while, viewers won’t be able to predict who will be donning a superhero costume.

However, given to his experiences with Kang in Quantumania, Ant-Man will almost certainly be picked almost overwhelmingly for one of the leadership posts on the team. If he survives his time in the quantum realm, that is.
