Recent reports claim that both Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) and Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) will appear in multiple variants in Marvel Studios’ Deadpool 3.
Marvel insider CanWeGetSomeToast says on Twitter that there will be more than two iterations of the Merc with a Mouth in the next Deadpool movie. They said, “Deadpool isn’t the only character to see multiple iterations. Also, [Deadpool 3] will have at least one more Wolverine.
Although unsubstantiated, there have been persistent claims that Deadpool 3 will feature the Time Variation Authority (DVA) prominently. These theories are consistent with the premise that the film will have multiple versions of its main characters in other multiverses. TVA is a group dedicated to eradicating time anomalies first established in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Marvel Studios’ 2021 Disney+ series Loki.

In Deadpool 3, Deadpool joins the MCU.
Following the original two Deadpool movies, which were set in the X-Men movie world created by 20th Century Fox, the upcoming Deadpool 3 will see Ryan Reynolds’ Wade Wilson/Deadpool move into the Marvel Cinematic world. He won’t be alone though, as Hugh Jackman will also return in the upcoming third as James “Logan” Howlett/Wolverine. Logan, a 2017 Fox film, was initially intended to be Jackman’s last performance as Wolverine.
In addition to comic book writer Zeb Wells, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who previously penned Fox’s Deadpool and Deadpool 2, return to pen the script for Marvel Studios’ Deadpool 3. Shawn Levy, who previously directed Ryan Reynolds in The Adam Project on Netflix and Free Guy for 20th Century Studios, is directing the film.
The current release date for Deadpool 3 is May 3, 2024.
