Whether or not he would reprise his role as the superpowered Ghost Rider from Agents of SHIELD was disclosed by Gabriel Luna.
The character Robbie Reyes, played by Luna, was hailed as some of the best work the program had ever produced during its seven seasons. Robbie Reyes appeared in ten episodes of SHIELD’s fourth season. Even the computer graphics were astounding.
There hasn’t been any indication about the return of Luna’s hell-boggling hero since his last appearance on the show in 2017.
But if the chance presented itself, would the actor take it?

Will Diego Luna Reappear as the Ghost Rider?
Gabriel Luna spoke with Comicbook.com about his past role as Ghost Rider in Agents of SHIELD’s fourth season and whether he would ever return for more while promoting HBO’s The Last of Us.
With the character, Luna acknowledged that “there’s obviously a lot more to say” and that “[he] would] surely be pleased to continue:”
“I believe that the manner in which we left it… Without a doubt, I believe there is much more to say. I adored the reply. Everyone adored Robbie and the character; if we had simply produced those 10 episodes, I would feel extremely satisfied with our accomplishments. To raise awareness of the character and present a Mexican-American hero—the first I know of on television. I’m aware that this has been discussed a lot, but I think people tend to forget that we accomplished it with Robbie in 2016. But he has a great personality, and I adore him. I would be more than pleased to continue.”
The actor said that Robbie Reyes “certainly deserves [to return]” because he “has become quite an essential element in Marvel publishing”:
“When you stop to think about it, there are so many places you can go because he was an Avenger in the comics and is now the All-Rider (a Ghost Rider without boundaries), which is pretty awesome. He has grown to be quite a significant part of Marvel Publishing, so if he were to make another appearance, he would unquestionably deserve it. Whether or not it’s me.”
Ghost Rider’s Prospects in the MCU
It’s disappointing that there hasn’t been any actual news on Ghost Rider’s present or future.
Since 2020, there have been rumors that Marvel Studios is working on a Ghost Rider project. There were rumors that the corporation had already begun negotiations with a different actress (not Luna) for the role as recently as last year.
Many people thought that it might be Norman Reedus, who had been vying for the part. Even well-known actor Ryan Gosling previously expressed interest in playing the role; he would probably play Johnny Blaze rather than Robbie Reyes.
The character was hotly reported to appear in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness just in May, but that obviously never happened.
Possibly if there isn’t a Ghost Rider project in the works anytime soon, fans can at least hope that Gabriel Luna’s (or even Nicholas Cage’s) take on the character will appear in Avengers: Secret Wars.
