Secret Invasion, the MCU’s first Phase 5 show on Disney+, may finally have a release date after months of speculation.
One of the most eagerly anticipated Disney+ MCU series, Secret Invasion, has fallen victim to the chaos as Marvel Studios works through a variety of behind-the-scenes issues with its release schedule.
Although Secret Invasion’s plot will likely be the MCU’s most ambitious to date on Disney+, the show’s debut date has been postponed numerous times. It was first set for Spring 2023 before that date was changed.
Even with the anticipation that Marvel Studios generated with the release of the first trailer for the Phase 5 plot in the summer of 2022, this is just one of the many worries that fans have expressed over the film. But after reading the most recent update from the team responsible for making Secret Invasion a reality, those concerns might be dissipating.

The Release Date for Secret Invasion Has Been Announced
Secret Invasion, the upcoming Marvel Studios series, will undoubtedly debut on Disney+’s streaming platform on Wednesday, June 21.
The six-episode series will technically premiere at the end of Spring 2023, as was previously announced during San Diego Comic-Con 2022, according to information from the show’s official page on the Disney+ website.
This is consistent with speculations from March 2023 that said Secret Invasion had been postponed from May to June and that the release date would not alter thereafter.
It would also offer Loki Season 2, which was expected to debut in September, around three months after Secret Invasion, plenty of breathing room.
Will the June Disney+ release of Secret Invasion succeed?
With this premiere date, the new Disney+ series will have some tough competition in a summer stacked with big-screen blockbusters, even though it comes more than six full weeks after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
Between June 30 and July 21, four sizable films—Barbie, Oppenheimer, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny—will be released in theaters (July 21). All of these happen after the first two Secret Invasion episodes air on Disney+, but since the show’s run will now end on July 26, it will face some fierce competition from blockbusters playing in theaters over those final four weeks.
Regarding the MCU particularly, Marvel Studios chose to release three films and two TV episodes in 2023 instead of the initially anticipated four, if rumors are to be believed.
However, since The Marvels won’t be released until November, viewers will have plenty of time to digest the events of Secret Invasion, especially given the likelihood that they’ll somehow tie into one another.
Fans will also be interested to learn whether the June 21 launch will be a single episode or a double episode, as Disney+ has done in the MCU with previous entries.
One episode every week should be more than enough to keep viewers talking about what’s coming next, though, given how compelling the tale will be as the Skrull invasion takes its place in the MCU saga.
