This page will provide an analysis of Marvel Midnight Suns’ conclusion, covering the events of the decisive battle, its aftermath, and both cryptic post-credit scenes. The Marvel Midnight Suns will prepare for one final battle after spending hours fighting back against Lillith’s forces throughout the game’s three acts and attempting to halt Chthon’s ascent.
This action-packed finale, which brings together all of the game’s various plot threads in an explosive final showdown, may be one of the game’s most difficult encounters but is also one of the most story-rich sections. Let’s quickly recap the events leading up to, during, and following the fight. There will be a lot of spoilers for the conclusion of Marvel Midnight Suns, as you might anticipate.
every aspect of Marvel Midnight Suns End
Marvel Midnight Suns’ main campaign revolves around the titular superhero team attempting to stop The Hunter’s evil mother, Lilith, as those who have reached the finale will be aware. Crowned the Mother of Demons and reawakened after centuries of being imprisoned, Lilith appears to have only one objective once she is set free: to track down and set the evil god Chthon free during the eclipse of the midnight sun.
Chthon is the epitome of an “Avengers-level threat,” capable of eradicating the Earth with his array of twisted, evil powers. The Hunter and the Marvel Midnight Suns have been pursuing Lilith throughout the game. Still, her demonic armies and perverted fallen champions have allowed her almost to complete her ritual, bringing the midnight sun eclipse and the restoration of the Darkhold (the evil book of sin) closer together.
The heroes start looking into ways to get rid of the book when they realize they must destroy the Darkhold in order to stop Chthon from rising during the third act of the game. The Hunter and Wolverine locate an ancient sword known as The God Killer, which Doctor Strange and Iron Man discover is made of Chthon’s flesh thanks to information obtained by Nico. The two think it will be able to obliterate the book and theoretically stop Chthon from rising.
The Marvel Midnight Suns decide to interrupt Lilith’s ritual and destroy the Darkhold with the God Killer in a last-ditch effort to save the world, prompting the team to gear up and engage in combat one last time. They go to Chthon’s realm to put an end to the ritual, but the story takes a turn. Actually, Lilith has been their ally the entire time. Speaking to The Hunter, Lilith reveals that her true goal is to defeat Chthon in one final battle rather than calling him to serve as his servant.
The reason Lilith has been trying to win over The Hunter in their dreams and why she hasn’t attacked the Abbey despite knowing where it is is due to her true objective. Lilith takes off the magical shackle around The Hunter’s neck in an effort to release their true power, not realizing that it keeps them from being possessed. Shortly after, Chthon commandeers The Hunter in shopping mode, stabs Lilith, and causes chaos in the ritual.
The Hunter is released from Chthon’s control after the other heroes fight back against the god and his henchmen. Lilith finally understands that she must stab the Darkhold with the God Killer in order to kill Chthon. Although the book starts to become unstable and releases magical energy, the plan is successful.
The Marvel Midnight Suns are saved from death when Lilith uses her last remaining power to send them back to The Abbey. Lilith and The Hunter, however, are both trapped by the Darkhold’s corruption and are unable to flee. Finally reunited, The Hunter holds Lilith as the two are engulfed by the magic of the Darkhold.
The Marvel Midnight Suns are back at the Abbey shortly after that, and we cut to them. Before the screen goes black and the credits start to roll, they share a brief moment of sadness as they watch the sun come up. The conclusion, or is it?

Explaining the Marvel Midnight Sun’s after-credits scenes
After the game’s official conclusion, there are two after-credits scenes. The Caretaker speculates that The Hunter and Lilith’s bond may have saved them from the explosion of the Darkhold in the first, which focuses on the group at The Abbey.
There appears to be a chance that our main protagonist and former antagonist could have survived their seemingly fatal battle with Chthon, especially with characters like Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch, Agatha Harkness, and Caretaker desperately trying to find a way to save both heroes.
However, the second after-credits scene is when things really get heated up. Back in Chthon’s realm, we see a shadowy armored figure approach a heap of debris. As the camera zooms in on what appears to be The Darkhold, we can still hear the echoes of Lilith and The Hunter’s shouting match. It survived the explosion and is still standing, which seems to imply that Lilith and The Hunter might have as well.
The figure then removes the debris from the book with a metal hand visible. He chuckles, saying, “Amateurs,” as the screen again goes black. Victor Von Doom, also known as Doctor Doom, is the terrifying figure, as Marvel fans will have no doubt surmised.
Doom, one of Marvel’s most recognizable villains and major threats, is a mad scientist who encased himself in metal armor after a risky experiment gone wrong. One of the greatest wizards and scientists in history, he is also one of the Avengers’ most formidable adversaries due to his intelligence. It is evident that the Marvel Midnight Suns and Doom will square off in a potential sequel, with the latter appearing to want to harness the power of the Darkhold.
We’ll have to wait and see if any additional hints about Doom’s position in Firaxis’ interpretation of the Marvel universe are revealed in the game’s upcoming DLC, which will see Midnight Suns like Deadpool, Venom, Morbius, and Storm join the ranks.
