Marvel Honors the Top 10 MCU Gods

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) brought numerous gods to the forefront in Phase 4, and the studio is highlighting them in front of Phase 5.

The Infinity Saga only scratched the surface when it introduced powerful gods like Thor, Loki, and Odin. It also offered a sneak preview of how a lethal god would alter once Hela appeared.

Phase 4 increased the power hierarchy, and most recently, Marvel UK’s official Instagram account posted an “Oh my gods” image showcasing ten of the Marvel Studios‘ on-screen gods:

When the talking hippopotamus first appeared in Moon Knight Episode 4, everyone was shocked. The identity of this figure was later revealed to be Taweret, the goddess of fertility and childbirth who protects women and children.

It is unknown if Taweret would appear in a later MCU project because Moon Knight Season 2 has not yet been properly confirmed. However, since May Calamawy’s Layla serves as Taweret’s avatar, there is a significant chance for a comeback.

2. Thor

Chris Hemsworth‘s Thor made an incredible comeback in Thor: Love and Thunder along with Natalie Portman’s Mighty Thor. It was suggested at the movie’s end that the God of Thunder will have an important future because he now had an adoptive daughter named Love.

Thor has always shown that he can overcome a variety of opponents, but his next involvement in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty might be his biggest test yet as he battles Kang the Conqueror.

3. Khonshu

Moon Knight, a brand-new hero for the MCU, was introduced in large part because of Khonshu. Even though he and the Egyptian god had a falling out in the Disney+ series finale, Marc Spector may have a bleak future in the MCU.

4. Namor

Namor is regarded as a divinity in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever by both the Wakandans and his own people, who go by the name K’uk’ulkan.

The MCU sequel gave fans a glimpse of Namor’s potential, and it is safe to believe that the Talokan leader will return for more.

5. Bast

Bast, a goddess from the MCU’s Wakandan Mythos, makes her debut in the 2018 film Black Panther. A warrior shaman was sent by the Panther Goddess Bast to find the plant with the heart-shaped shape, which can give people enhanced physical powers and the ability to go to the Ancestral Plane.

6. Odin

Despite the fact that he had already gone away by the time of Thor: Ragnarok, there is no denying that Odin’s power level was practically unmatched at its height (as seen in 2011’s Thor).

Despite his tremendous power, Odin is regarded as a wise ruler, a quality he successfully passed on to his son, Thor.

7. Zeus

The Greek god of lights and Omnipotence City’s ruler Zeus, played by Russell Crowe, first appeared in Thor: Love and Thunder. He has a thunderbolt that governs his talents, the movie also revealed.

In the post-credits scene of Thor 4, Zeus was still seen to be alive despite Thor piercing his chest with one of his own thunderbolts. This proved that Zeus is a challenging foe to overcome.

8. Ammit

the Top 10 MCU Gods

Egyptian goddess Ammit, who has a crocodile head, is feared because she judges a person’s worthiness to live by looking at their past, present, and future. In the Moon Knight Season 1 conclusion, Ammit and Khonshu fought, but Ammit prevailed and was imprisoned inside Arthur Harrow’s body.

Given that Jake Lockley looked to have killed Harrow in the show’s post-credits scene, it is questionable whether Ammit will make another spectacular return.

9. Hela

Hela proved she was the Goddess of Death when she annihilated the Warriors Three and an Asgardian army force.

Surtur’s appearance was also necessary for the Revengers (Thor, Loki, Valkyrie, and Hulk) to defeat Hela in Ragnarok because their combined efforts were insufficient.

10. Loki

Loki has already died several times in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, yet he keeps coming back even more powerful. Despite having his own Disney+ series, The God of Mischief is expected to have a significant role in potential conflicts with Kang the Conqueror, the leader of the Time Variance Authority.

As the story progresses, these powerful gods will be a continuous force in illustrating the MCU’s hierarchical structure. It is also logical to assume that more gods will be introduced in the future to level the playing field. When the time comes, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will ideally be more equipped to deal with these new gods.
