For the first time since his devastating injuries that sent him to the hospital, MCU mainstay Jeremy Renner reached out to fans on social media.
Jeremy Renner made headlines early in the New Year when it was reported that he was in a Nevada hospital following a devastating snow ploughing accident in which a Snowcat rolled over the Marvel star’s leg.
More information about the accident has emerged since the initial report, with the 51-year-old assisting in the clearing of a stuck car “stranded in the snow” near his home when the incident occurred.

Jeremy RENNER I Appreciate Your Support, Fans
Actor Jeremy Renner, who plays Hawkeye, thanked his fans online for their support after suffering serious injuries in a snow ploughing accident on New Year’s Day and needing to be taken to the hospital.
Jeremy Renner posted a snapshot from his hospital bed on Instagram with the remark “[sending] love” to people who have sent him good wishes:
“I appreciate all of your warm words. I’m currently too confused to type. But I send you all my love.”
After a Snowcat snow plough ran over on the actor’s leg on Monday, January 2, he required emergency surgery. This is just the start of what is being described as the Avengers star’s “very lengthy road to recovery.”
At a news conference on Tuesday, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Department provided details on the collision, saying Renner was assisting in freeing a personal vehicle that had been trapped in the snow “close to his home:”
“Our inquiry revealed that a family member was operating Mr. Renner’s personal vehicle when it got trapped in the snow close to his house. In an effort to move his car, Mr. Renner proceeded to grab his PistenBully, also known as a Snowcat. This enormous piece of snow removal equipment weighs at least 14,330 pounds.”
The roughly 14,000-pound plough rolled over Jeremy Renner after he used his Pisten Bully Snowcat to “successfully haul his personal vehicle” out of the snow:
Mr. Renner stepped out of his PistenBully after hauling his own car out of the jam and started talking to his relative. The PistenBully is shown to have started rolling at this moment. Mr. Renner tries to get back into the PistenBully’s driver’s seat in an effort to stop the PistenBully from rolling. According to our inquiry, the PistenBully then runs over Mr. Renner at this moment.
According to the Sheriff’s Department, they “do not suspect any foul play” at this time and described the incident as “a tragic accident”:
“We do not believe there has been any wrongdoing, but this investigation is still ongoing. We have no suspicion of any wrongdoing, I’ll say that again. This was a horrible accident, in our opinion.”
Jeremy Renner continues to get our warmest wishes from The Direct as he recovers.
