With eight major live-action movies, some animated excursions across the multiverse, and even a movie world dedicated entirely to his enemies, Marvel’s legendary wall-crawler has quite the history on the big screen.
However, with streaming available everywhere, seeing all the web-centric big-screen experiences can be challenging. Plenty of Spidey movies are now accessible for streaming in one place (including Disney+), but the rest can be a grab bag.

1. Spider-Man
Release Date: May 3, 2002
Under the watchful eye of filmmaker Sam Raimi, Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker began releasing movies on the web in 2002. After being bitten by a radioactive spider, Maguire’s tough New York boy gains great ability (and with it comes great responsibility). When Peter faces off against the evil Green Goblin (played by Willam Dafoe), he must balance his life as a high school student and a superhero for the first time.

2. Spider-Man 2
Release Date: June 30, 2004
Spider-Man 2 picks up with Peter Parker, now a college student, two years after the first movie. Peter confronts one of his mentors, Dr. Otto Octavius (also known as Dr. Octopus), after one of his experiments goes awry, he ends up strapped to his back with four mechanical organs. The girls’ Peter likes to get engaged to others, Peter’s Spider-Man abilities start to wane, and his best friend Spidey wants him killed.

3. Spider-Man 3
Release Date: May 4, 2007
Spider-Man 3 concludes Tobey Maguire and Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy. In this adaptation of the classic Black Suit plot for the big screen, Peter is pushed to the limit after coming into contact with an alien symbiote that magnifies all the worst aspects of a person’s psyche. James Franco’s friend turned-foe Harry Osborn, Topher Grace’s Eddie Brock/Venom, and Thomas Hayden Church’s Sandman are the adversaries in Maguire’s wall-crawling hero battles.

4. The Amazing Spider-Man
Release Date: July 3, 2012
Starring Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker and Emma Stone as his iconic comic book love interest Gwen Stacy, The Amazing Spider-Man picked up right where it left off. This time, the story offers a new perspective on Spider-Man’s origins. Garfield’s high school superhero makes his first forays into the role of a legendary hero, falling in love and defeating the evil Lizard in the process.

5. The Amazing Spider-Man 2
Release Date: May 2, 2014
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 explores the true consequences of leading a double life as Peter Parker struggles to preserve his relationships with his fiancée Gwen and her Aunt May. Garfield’s Peter deals with the story of him with the return of his old friend Harry Osborne (played by Dan DeHaan), while trying to protect the people he loves from villains like Jamie Foxx’s Electro and the enigmatic Green Goblin.

6. Captain America: Civil War
Release Date: May 6, 2016
After years of anticipation, Marvel’s webhead makes his MCU debut in Captain America: Civil War. Tom Holland’s Peter Parker catches the eye of Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark and is asked to fight Stark in an Avengers showdown over the controversial superhero who orchestrated the Sokovia Accords.

7. Spider-Man: Homecoming

Already well established in the MCU, Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in his first solo Marvel Studios film, Spider-Man: Homecoming. As Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man and one of the valedictorians at Midtown School of Science and Technology, Holland’s Spidey enjoys his superpowered life thanks to his normal life as a superhero. Villainous Vulture (played by Michael Keaton).

8. Venom
Release Date: October 5, 2018
In Venom, Tom Hardy’s persistent investigative journalist Eddie Brock becomes entangled with a vile symbiote called Venom. As the anti-hero uncovers a conspiracy at the Life Foundation led by Carlton Drake, played by Riz Ahmed, he is forced to deal with a host of evil aliens.

9. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
Release Date: December 14, 2018
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is Miles Morales’ first major film appearance. This animated epic stars Hailee Steinfeld’s Spider-Gwen and Jake Johnson’s Peter B. Miles (Shamek Moore) and is up against various spider people from across the multiverse, including Parker. Into the Spider-Verse introduces the world to a new cinematic Spider-Man, showing audiences that “anyone can wear a mask.”

10. Avengers: Infinity War
Release Date: April 27, 2018
Tom Holland’s Spider-Man enters the fight for the fate of the universe in his first full-length Avengers film, Avengers: Infinity War. With the help of the likes of Iron Man, Doctor Strange, and the Guardians of the Galaxy, Holland’s teenage wall-crawler battles Thanos, the Mad Titan.

11. Avengers: Endgame
Release Date: April 26, 2019
Tom Holland’s portrayal of Peter makes a triumphant comeback in Avengers: Endgame, fighting alongside Thanos after being taken away as part of Infinity War. Following the completion of their Time Heist to steal the Infinity Stones for themselves and, ideally, to bring back everyone who was killed in the last seconds of the previous film, the Avengers then proceed with this mission.
