Several new characters have already been added to the cast of this sequel, including Oscar Isaac’s Miguel O’Hara. However, a slew of Spider-People, possibly in the double digits, have been introduced in the latest trailer.

As Across the Spider-2 prepares for its June 2023 release, The Direct is more than happy to help point out (most) of them, even those not in the trailer.

Every Spider Variant in Spider-2

1. Mayday Parker

Spider-2
MARVEL

Mayday Parker is one of the most well-known Spiders among comic book fans. Mayday took over as Spider-Man after her father, Peter Parker, was severely injured in a fight with the Green Goblin.

Debuting as Spider-Girl in “What If…?She then had a comic run that lasted eight years starting with #105, in addition to continuing to make appearances in comics to this day. However, for the time being, the Into the Spider-Verse sequel has Mayday trapped as a baby, so her father isn’t in too much danger—yet.

2. Miles Morales (Spider-Man)

Spider-2
MARVEL

Shameik Moore reprises his role as Miles Morales, who has firmly established himself as Spider-Man. However, Gwen Stacy pays him an unexpected visit and introduces him to a collection of different Spiders from all over the Multiverse.

However, it appears that Morales does something that causes them all to regard him as the enemy. As a result, he appears to be a Spider-Man on the run in this animated sequel.

3. Gwen Stacy (Spider-Gwen)

Spider-2
MARVEL

Gwen Stacy, played by Hailee Steinfeld, reappears in Morales’ room via an interdimensional portal. She assists in introducing Morales to a whole new world.

When Morales is made the enemy, she questions the group’s intentions, saying, “We’re supposed to be the good guys,” to which O’Hara responds, “We are.”

4. Miguel O’Hara (Spider-Man 2099)

Spider-2
MARVEL

Miguel O’Hara, played by Oscar Isaac, was last seen in the comical post-credits scene of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, determined to gather an army of Spiders for a mission. But, like the comics, O’Hara lacks a sense of humor.

The latest trailer depicts this with a hardened Spider-Man on a mission, which Morales appears to compromise to O’Hara’s chagrin. As Morales flees into the Multiverse, O’Hara pursues him with zeal.

5. Jessica Drew (Spider-Woman)

Spider-2
MARVEL

One of the biggest surprises for fans was the announcement that Jessica Drew, voiced by Issa Rae, would be joining the cast. A cross between a pregnant Jessica Drew from the comics and Valerie the Librarian (technically the first Spider-Woman) with organic webbing similar to Cindy Moon’s Silk.

She is seen riding a motorcycle through a portal while fighting a Variant of the Vulture. If one shot from the trailer is any indication, Drew appears to be working closely with O’Hara.

6. Parker B. Parker (Spider-Man)

Spider-2
MARVEL

Fan-favorite Parker B. Parker, voiced by Jake Johnson, returns in this animated sequel, but he’s now a father. Reintroduced in a pink bathrobe and fuzzy slippers, he appears to be watching over his daughter for the day or providing her with an opportunity to meet others like her.

In terms of his attire, it’s possible that he’s not as involved in this adventure because he was called in unexpectedly or because he’s simply not bothered. After all, a baby with radioactive blood should be enough to divert anyone’s attention, including Spider-Man.

7. Hobart Brown (Spider-Punk)

Spider-2
MARVEL

Hobart Brown first appeared as Spider-Punk in “Spider-Verse” #2, where he helped lead a rebellion against President Osborn’s regime, which was controlled by Symbiotes. However, one strum of his loud guitar was enough to turn the tide in favor of the rebellion.

Merchandise has revealed that Spider-Punk closely resembles his comic counterpart, minus the UK-inspired underoos. Spider-Punk, who has been confirmed to be voiced by Daniel Kaluuya, appears to be one of the film’s supporting characters.

8. Ben Reilly (Scarlet Spider)

Spider-2
MARVEL

To properly explain Ben Reilly’s turbulent backstory would require a dozen story arcs and hundreds of comics, so to summarise – he is a clone of Peter Parker. When that was finally clarified for everyone, Reilly decided to create his own identity: Scarlet Spider.

Another fan favorite in the comics who no one expected to see, he was spotted on a tie-in board game for the animated sequel. So he could be part of the newest supporting cast, which should please Ben Reilly fans.

9. Cyborg Spider-Woman

Spider-2
MARVEL

The most enigmatic variation is “Cyborg Spider-Woman,” which has appeared on some merchandise as promotional art and as a toy. However, her pairing with the other more prominent Spiders suggests that she is a member of the supporting cast.

She appears to be based on the Spider-Man: The Animated Series tie-in toy Cyborg Spider-Man, which, as is typical with these types of tie-ins, did not appear in the show itself.

10. Pavitr Prabhakar (Spider-Man India)

Spider-2
MARVEL

Many fans speculated that the first trailer for Across the Spider-Verse showed a glimpse of his universe. However, it has been confirmed that Prabhakar, who first appeared in “Spider-Man: India” #1, will return in the animated sequel with a new look.

When compared to his comic-book costume, the character has undergone a significant transformation. Given that the original is essentially a standard Spider-Man costume with minimal Indian aesthetics added.

It’s unclear how significant his role in the sequel will be, but given that concept art for the Spider was prominently displayed prior to the release of the latest trailer, Most likely, it won’t be a cameo.

11. Peter Parker (Marvel’s Spider-Man)

Spider-2
MARVEL

Insomniac’s Spider-Man costume is a well-known Easter egg from the first film. So it’s no surprise that the sequel’s filmmakers went a step further and included the video game iteration himself as a cameo.

However, it is unclear with which Spider-Man he is conversing, as it is clearly not Morales from his world.

12. Mary Jane and Annie Parker (Spinneret and Nestling)

Spider-2
MARVEL

Mary-Jane Parker and her daughter Anna-May “Annie” Parker made an unexpected cameo for fans of niche comics. Another instance of a happily married Peter Parker, which is unusual for mainstream comics.

They both debuted as comic book characters in “Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows” #1 as Peter Parker’s wife and daughter. They assist Spider-Man in fighting crime as Spinneret and Spiderling, using a suit that endows MJ with her husband’s abilities and Annie inheriting them from her father.

13. Peter Parker (Spider-Man Unlimited)

Spider-2
MARVEL

This Peter Parker made his debut in the Spider-Man Unlimited pilot episode as one of many Spiders who attempted to apprehend Morales as he made his getaway. He got stuck on Counter-Earth and had to fight the High Evolutionary while wearing a cool nano-machine suit.

Peter Parker is currently stranded on another planet because the show was regrettably cancelled after one season. It’s encouraging to think that he was eventually able to overpower the High Evolutionary and flee before joining O’Hara’s Spider-Army.

14. Peter Parker (Mangaverse Spider-Man)

Spider-2
MARVEL

This small-lookin’ guy is, well, Spider-Man, but he’s most commonly known as Mangaverse Spider-Man. As the name would imply, his universe is inspired by Japanese Manga as interpreted through the lens of American writers and artists.

15. Maybelle Reilly (Lady Spider)

Spider-2
MARVEL

Fans of Maybelle Reilly, also known as Lady Spider, get another incredibly cool cameo. This Aunt May, who first appears in “Spider-Verse” #1, is a New Yorker from 1895 who made the decision to create mechanical spider arms and Web-Shooters in order to fight crime.

Since most Spider-Variants of Aunt May in comic books are comedic characters, like Spider-Ma’am, her appearance is especially cool.

16. Flash Thompson (Captain Spider)

Spider-2
MARVEL

If it weren’t for the exposed chin and hair, the cameo would be virtually unrecognisable. This is undoubtedly Flash Thompson, also known as Captain Spider in his world, despite the slightly different design, which includes a high school jacket.

He made his debut in “What If…?” #7, where Peter Parker’s bully from high school was bit by the terrible spider instead. Instead of defeating Crusher Hogan like Parker did, Thompson accidentally killed him when he used his new abilities to engage in a prize-money match against him.

Thompson put on a costume and battled crime as Captain Spider to atone for his transgressions (and avoid being detained by the police).

17. Spider-Man (Bombastic Bag-Man)

Spider-2
MARVEL

After assisting Peter Parker in separating the Symbiote from himself, Reed Richard was left in his underwear and his identity was revealed in “The Amazing Spider-Man” #258. Fortunately, Johnny Storm was able to assist in putting together a costume thanks to his quick thinking.

He became Bombastic Bag-Man and was only equipped with a spare Fantastic Four costume, no shoes, and a loose brown paper bag for a mask. albeit briefly before donning a suitable costume and passing out in shame.

The fact that this Parker is wearing his standard Spider-Man outfit and isn’t wearing his foot coverings or mask, however, suggests that the costume in the movie was altered. It might be against the law for Sony to wear the Fantastic Four costume.

18.) PlayStation Spider-Man

Spider-2
MARVEL

What many believe to be Spider-Man from the 2000 PlayStation original game Spider-Man by Neversoft makes the strangest cameo in the trailer. While it’s difficult to tell from a still, when the character is moving, the jerky running animation and framerate appear to be done on purpose to resemble its vintage video game counterpart.

The model, however, appears to be a woman upon closer inspection; this change was also made to another Spider on this list.

19.) Spider-Armor MK I

Spider-2
MARVEL

One Spider-Woman can be seen tackling Morales wearing Peter Parker’s first iteration of bullet-proof armour. Used only once, in “Web of Spider-Man” #100, where Peter faces off against the New Enforcers and fashions a new suit to withstand their power.

Although it mostly succeeds, it is quickly destroyed and never again appears in mainstream comics. That hasn’t stopped video game adaptations from providing the player with an additional costume for years, though.

20.) Spider-Armor MK II

Spider-2
MARVEL

A Spider can be seen lounging on a ledge while donning the Spider-Armor MK II. The suit was made to be bulletproof like its previous version.

Spider-Man briefly lost his Spider-Sense in the comics at one point. He was unable to dodge hits, including bullets, and it caused him to mess up his web-slinging.

In “Amazing Spider-Man” #656 he finds himself trapped against a psychotic foe with plenty of ammunition and hostages, so he creates a new bulletproof costume. Parker uses it to protect the hostages from gunfire and put an end to the criminal’s activities.

21.) Spider-Armor MK III

Spider-2
MARVEL

In what appears to be Spider-Armor MK III, we see another Spider tackling Morales. An improved version of the armour Parker first used to fight the Sinister Six in “Amazing Spider-Man” #682 as a last resort.

Parker reconstructed it and kept it for use in the future, even though it was later destroyed.

22.) Takuya Yamashiro (Japanese Spider-Man)

Spider-2
MARVEL

The sequel’s producer, Phil Lord, has confirmed that Japanese Spider-Man, an emissary of hell, will make an appearance. ye.commastmastmastmastmastmastmastmastmastmastmas, and

Fans don’t care that he was only loosely based on the character. His giant mecha Leopardon, which should travel with him in Across the Spider-Verse, is especially helpful.

23.) Spider-Monkey

MARVEL

It seems like we are scraping the bottom of the barrel. A few frames show Spider-Monkey in the background, possibly taking inspiration from Spider-Monkey from Marvel Apes. He comes from a world of anthropomorphic animals that a radioactive spider bit. He is an anthropomorphic monkey.

24.) Werewolf Spider-Man

Spider-2
MARVEL

Why not Spider-Man too if both Captain Americas can turn into werewolves? Why not involve everyone in the fun, in fact? In issue one of “Amazing Spider-Man: Full Circle,” Peter Parker and the rest of humanity are all transformed into werewolves.

25.) Spider-Cop

Spider-2
MARVEL

What started out as a straightforward running joke in Marvel’s Spider-Man during a dubious side quest turned into the entertaining or troubling Spider-Cop. Looks more like a Mall Cop than a Spider-Cop as he directs traffic while tens of thousands of spiders walk and swing by in the movie trailer.

And That Was Just The Second Trailer

To be clear, there are probably both items on this list that are not present and those that were not included because they did not sufficiently resemble the original designs For example, that wasn’t Peter Parker from Spider-Man: Far From Home; the colour scheme matched, but the design was all wrong.

Whatever the case, there will undoubtedly be a tonne more cameos in the sequel, especially given that Morales will be chasing after a supervillain who can freely traverse the Multiverse while on the run. Following its release, a similar list might even number in the hundreds.
