There may have just been a hint from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 actors that Rocket Raccoon would pass away in the film.
James Gunn’s final MCU film, Guardians 3, will be his last before turning all of his attention to his recently purchased DC Universe. Sean, his brother, frequently takes up a larger role in Gunn’s films than is typical.
Kraglin, Yondu’s right-hand man, is a popular name for Sean Gunn. But, he also serves as Rocket Raccoon’s stand-in actor, providing all of the motion for the motion capture of the character.
Due to the fact that Sean Gunn plays both Kraglin and Rocket Raccoon, there are several situations in the Guardians series where he is both standing and crawling.
Rocket Raccoon’s future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe may be further clouded by the fact that he intends to retire from that line of employment after Guardians 3.

After Guardian 3, Gunn is no longer Rocket.
Many viewers are already aware that Sean Gunn, who plays Kraglin, also contributes his skills as Rocket Raccoon’s motion capture actor in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
It’s “a lot harder” to play Rocket now that he’s older, he acknowledges to Empire Magazine, but he also says the upcoming Guardians threequel will be his “swan song as Rocket,” suggesting he won’t be doing the motion capture work required to bring the beloved Guardian to life.
Rocket might die in Guardians 3, although director James Gunn has previously played coy about it, saying “That’s not how tales operate” in response to a fan’s suggestion that Rocket could be kept alive by being merely taken away to an unknown location.
The actor’s most recent remarks may not come as a complete surprise at this point considering that Rocket’s passing has already been a hot issue recently due to the way the movie has been promoted.
For instance, the official plot of the movie openly mentions that it will center on saving Rocket’s life, and many fans believe that Vol. 3’s teasers and advertising posters strongly suggest the film will serve as Rocket Raccoon’s MCU farewell.
Will Rocket Die in the upcoming film, “Guardians 3”?
Given that his brother ended his MCU run with Guardians 3, Sean Gunn’s retirement from the Rocket character is partially a result of this. Even so, if Rocket Raccoon ended his life by giving his life to save the Guardians, just as his friend previously did for him, that would undoubtedly be the most satisfying full-circle moment one could hope for.
Rocket has changed during the whole Guardians series from a self-centered bounty hunter to a loving, empathetic friend and comrade. He could moan and complain, but he now puts his family’s needs ahead of his own.
The majority of the new movie’s promotional material makes it seem like Rocket will have to confront his history head-on, adding to the contrast that viewers will perceive between Rocket before and after he joined the Guardians of the Galaxy.
The fate of the Guardians of the Galaxy series may mean a lasting farewell for the members of the intergalactic band of heroes, regardless of whether he survives or not.
