Deadpool 3 Will Use a Time Travel Device, According to Hugh Jackman

Hugh Jackman, who plays Deadpool 3, revealed the upcoming Marvel threequel will use time travel to advance the plot in a recent interview.

Jackman, better known as Wolverine from Fox’s X-Men series, announced his return to the role following Logan in 2017, which many believed to be his final appearance in the role.

The upcoming comedy starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman has been dubbed “the ultimate Marvel icon [meets] the ultimate Marvel iconoclast,” and it will parody buddy-cop movies like Rush Hour and Lethal Weapon.

Many people are baffled by how exactly Jackman’s massive mutant enters the MCU for Deadpool 3 after passing away at the conclusion of Logan, which has many people wondering how this will all work. It appears that time travel may be involved, though.

Hugh Jackman, who is playing Wolverine in the upcoming Shawn Levy comedy, claims that his return to his iconic X-Men role will apparently be made possible by some time travel.

Because of “this device they have in the Marvel world of moving around timelines,” Jackman explained in an interview with Radio Andy on SiriusXM, the movies can jump around and “don’t have to screw with the ‘Logan’ timeline,” something that was “important to [Jackman]:”

“But after that, I simply set it aside and declared, “No, no, I’m done.” Then we finished “Logan,” and I couldn’t have been happier. But now that we can move between timelines thanks to a device used in the Marvel universe, we can go back because, well, science. So I won’t have to mess with the “Logan” timeline, which was significant to me and, I believe, to the fans as well.”

The actor also discussed what made him return to the role of Wolverine, mentioning that he would be finished after Logan. However, he realized “[this is] a] kind of dynamic [audiences] haven’t had before” after seeing Deadpool because “all [he] could see was Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy in 48 Hours.”

“If I’m being completely honest, I declared that the movie “Logan” would be my last before going to see “Deadpool,” and after 20 minutes I was like, “Curse!” I absolutely adored the film, but all I could focus on the entire time was Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy in “48 Hours.” And I thought, “I’ve never done this with the character. We’ve never experienced a dynamic like that before.”

What Role Does Time Travel Have in Deadpool 3?

It will be very interesting to see exactly how changing timelines will affect Deadpool 3’s plot. One must keep in mind that time travel is nothing new for this group of characters, as it was integral to later installments of the Fox X-Men universe.

But this is a unique creature. The MCU is this. And these remarks from Jackman make a lot of sense given the rumors that Owen Wilson’s Mobius and Loki’s Time Variance Authority (TVA) will play significant roles in Deadpool 3.

When will Ryan Reynolds’ Merc with a Mouth attack Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, and how precisely will Deadpool acquire the ability to alter space-time?

Given that Josh Brolin’s Cable jumped back from the future in Deadpool 2, he might be essential to ensuring that Deadpool actually crosses the Multiverse to reach another timeline.

And it might be entertaining to watch Reynolds’ anti-hero perhaps encounter some of Wolverine’s most memorable moments from throughout the Fox universe before embarking on the journey the pair will go on in the threequel.
