Stephen Kapicic, who plays the colossal metal mutant Colossus in Deadpool 3, has welcomed the start of production on the long-awaited third installment of the MCU.
In Deadpool 3, Ryan Reynolds plays a key role in one of the MCU’s biggest additions. The film will explore the multiverse in more detail than the latest Marvel Studios production.
Hugh Jackman’s startling decision to wear the Wolverine claws for the first time in the MCU and the subsequent confirmation that it will release in late 2024 has led Marvel to begin casting A-list celebrities as the actors prepare for the cameras (and heads) to start rolling.
With Jackman sporting his signature beard, last seen in 2017’s Logan, the start of production seems imminent.

Filming on Deadpool 3 Star has begun
Stefan Kapicic, who plays Colossus, revealed in a recent Instagram story that Deadpool 3 filming has begun.
Along with co-stars Morena Baccarin, Karan Soni, and Brianna Hildebrand, Kapicic released a picture with the current logo for the threequel. The phrase “confirmed” was placed above the picture, indicating that production started on May 23.
Additionally, this is consistent with remarks made by Reynolds in November 2022, in which he said that the threequel’s filming will start just before the summer of 2023.
When will Deadpool 3 fans learn more?
While the ongoing writers’ strike has caused some difficulties for production on Deadpool 3, the start of filming is a promising development for the MCU’s first mutant-centric feature.
And when formal production on the trilogy begins, all eyes will be on director Shawn Levy and others celebrating the film as the first R-rated film in MCU history.
As Wade Wilson, Colossus, and his gang of X-Men transcend across dimensions and become a part of the MCU storyline for the first time, early plot clues have hinted that this will be a “fish-out-of-water” scenario for Reynolds.
While none of the official story elements have been confirmed by anyone involved, rumors suggest that it will follow Wade and his team as they navigate the multiverse followed by Owen Wilson’s Mobius.
As Marvel is expected to be very guarded with the secrets of this chapter of the multiverse saga, Stephen Capisi and his cast will have to maintain that level of secrecy when Deadpool’s third solo film arrives.
Deadpool 3 is currently in production and is scheduled to hit theaters on November 8, 2024.
