The iconic actor who actually passed away in Ryan Reynolds’ last Marvel movie, Deadpool 2, has joined the cast of Deadpool 3.

With the upcoming release of Deadpool 3, which heralded a number of returning cast members from the original two 20th Century Fox movies, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is set to get its first real injection of live-action mutant narrative.

Marvel Studios is trying to bring interesting new cast members into the Deadpool craze, even bringing in some popular MCU heroes, but these casts aren’t just for characters who never die.

One of them is Morena Baccarin’s Vanessa, who was resurrected by Wade via Cable’s time travel device in Deadpool 2’s post-credits sequence, and it seems to be just the beginning in that regard.

Rob Delaney, who played Peter in 20th Century Fox’s Deadpool 2, has joined the cast of Marvel Studios’ Deadpool 3.

Peter was a well-known member of Wade Wilson’s X-Force squad in Deadpool 2, though all the other members except Domino were killed while trying to locate Josh Brolin’s wire.

Regarding Peter, Delaney’s character went to a lumberjack to try and save Zeitgeist, but Zeitgeist eventually spits acid on Peter, instantly killing his human favorite.

However, Peter turns out to be one of the luckiest individuals in the group since Wade Wilson used Cable’s time machine to reverse his death in the thrilling scenes of Deadpool 2.

Reynolds used the Twitter handle “SugarBear!!!!!” which Wade gives Peter in the film, two “seven” emojis, and a red heart to promote Delaney’s return.

Deadpool 2 co-star Lois Tan has also cryptically hinted that he could be an additional member of the X-Force returning in Deadpool 3.

Deadpool 3 will obviously make the most of time travel, as this cast marks at least the second Deadpool 2 character to return from the dead, as well as the exciting return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.

Having Rob Delaney’s Peter back in the fold will have fans wondering who he’ll join in the MCU after Rob Delaney’s Peter gained popularity with fans during the Deadpool 2 marketing campaign and in the movie itself.

In recent weeks, Ryan Reynolds has also teased the return of X-Force. Terry Crews’ Bedlam could also return if the crew gets back together, and there have been reports that Zazie Beetz’s Domino is returning as well.

Plus, with Deadpool and Wolverine teaming up with the Time Variation Authority, this movie looks to be the MCU’s next significant foray into the multiverse. Delaney may be the last performer to enter the MCU from the previous movies.

Filming on Deadpool 3 appears to begin this month, with its theatrical release scheduled for November 8, 2024.
