Chris Evans hinted that he may not be done with Marvel yet in an interview that was recorded before the SAG-AFTRA strike began.
In Avengers: Endgame, Captain America (Steve Rogers) sees his MCU journey over and passes the torch to Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson.
Despite this, Evans has stated that he is not bothered by fans’ constant questions about whether he will return to the MCU.
Is Chris Evans ready to join the MCU again?
Before the recent Hollywood actors’ strike, Chris Evans told GQ that he would be open to returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but “it won’t be anytime soon.”
Speaking about his time as Steve Rogers, he said “It was an amazing experience” so he is “very precious about it”:
“Just because it was a beautiful experience, I’ll never say never. But I also have a lot of respect for it. It’s something I’m very proud of. And like I mentioned, sometimes I find it hard to believe it happened.”
Evans said he would be cautious about the circumstances surrounding a return, noting that any conceivable return would not be “so soon”:
And I don’t want a “black eye” if it seems like a money grab, doesn’t live up to expectations, or doesn’t seem connected to the original product. So there is no time soon.
He continued to talk about his intention to reduce his participation in the public scene, indicating that he is “very satisfied” and that he is “not associated in any way with other names present at the top of the mountain.”

When can Chris Evans return?
Evans likely won’t appear in the upcoming Captain America: Brave New World movie because he wants to take a more conservative approach to acting and because he wants to make sure any potential payoff is executed smoothly.
Furthermore, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty or Avengers: Secret Wars would be the most likely places he could appear in the future, albeit in a short cameo or flashback.
Whether it’s through Sam and Bucky in Captain America and the Winter Soldier, Rogers the Hawkeye Musical, or even the lock screen image of She-Hulk, their influence on the series and their presence is still felt.
On Disney+, you can watch every appearance of Chris Evans in the MCU.
