Chris Evans explains why he was hesitant to take on the role of Captain America in the MCU.

Chris Evans was initially reluctant to take on the role of Captain America due to his fear of fame and the loss of control that comes with it.
Despite his misgivings, Evans developed a strong bond with Captain America and compared his own characteristics to those of the character.
While it’s unclear whether Evans will reprise his role as Captain America, the idea of the universe gives him the opportunity to play alternate versions of the character, like Johnny Storm in Deadpool 3, or a unique one.

For most artists, joining a major property like the Marvel Cinematic Universe can be a lofty ambition. For some, like Chris Evans, that goal came with a lot of pressure and responsibility that the actor wasn’t sure he wanted to handle.

Along with Robert Downey Jr. and the rest of the cast that makes up the core of the Avengers, Chris Evans has become one of Marvel Studios’ most iconic characters. He is currently one of the most sought-after actors in Hollywood for his portrayal of Captain America aka Steve Rogers, one of the most acclaimed throughout the franchise and throughout his entire career.

However, the fame and attention the play generated was not a welcome gift for an actor. Before the SAG-AFTRA strike, the actor admitted in a recent interview with GQ that he initially wasn’t sure he wanted to face all the obstacles that would come with joining the MCU:

At first, he had many reservations about accepting the position. When I was in my twenties marketing films, I can clearly remember a significant change in how I felt on set: a little more fear and uncertainty. Is this what I should do? It is a constant thought in the mind.

Benefits can be provided to my family indefinitely; However, the disadvantages are that losing popularity and control would make me incredibly miserable.

I am glad to accept the position. I recognize that when you look at a character frequently, you can’t help but pick up on some of their traits and try to compare yourself to them.

Will Chris Evans ever reprise his role as Captain America?

While some of the Avengers‘ main characters, such as Thor and Hulk, appear to still be active in the present, others, including Tony Stark, Natasha Romanoff, and Steve Rogers, have moved on to the franchise’s past. Of course, in some cases, it’s because they’re no longer part of the living, and in others, it’s because a new hero takes up his mantle.

However, since the idea of the MCU universe was introduced, no actor’s fate is set in stone as they can return to play other versions of their characters or appear in a time travel adventure. So Evans’ Captain America can be seen a little bit. The actor has already spoken out on the subject, although he is not interested in playing Steve Rogers again.

However, a different position can also be taken. According to rumors about Deadpool 3, Jessica Alba is one of the unexpected cameos in the film and she will reportedly appear as Sue Storm in Fantastic Four alongside Evans. Evans is rumored to appear as Johnny Storm, his role in the film. Naturally, there’s still a long way to go before we know which Deadpool 3 rumors are accurate, leaving more room for fan hypotheses to arise.
