The first Captain Marvel 2 trailer unveiled additional information about the enemy as well as gave fans the chance to see Kamala Khan and the mature Monica Rambeau in action.
The villain of The Marvels, who will be portrayed by Zawe Ashton, has been a mystery ever since the casting news broke back in 2021. Ashton admitted that she was “terrified to say anything” during the showing of Ms. Marvel since she wasn’t sure if the news of her participation in the Captain Marvel sequel had ever been made public.
At D23, a movie trailer debuted, and up until this point, that was the only official glimpse at Ashton’s character.

Captain Marvel 2 Villain Revealed
Fans got their first look at Zawe Ashton as the film’s adversary in the debut trailer for The Marvels, which comes out in November.
Ashton’s character, who is dressed in dark hues and surrounded by Kree, is wielding a staff that resembles one used by Ronan the Accuser in the 2014 film Guardians of the Galaxy.
Ashton is a powerful, self-assured character who looks like she fits in a tale with strong female characters and who will be a dangerous opponent.
Given the staff, the intimidating aura she exudes, and the apparent respect the Kree extend her way, it seems likely that Ashton is portraying the new Accuser in place of Ronan, who was killed in the first Guardians of the Galaxy film.
In contrast to Ronan, Ashton’s character is a Kree who passes as a human rather than a blue Kree.
Ashton and Kamala Khan, played by Iman Vellani, can be seen fighting toward the end of the trailer (Ms. Marvel). Ashton appears to be firing a blast similar to Captain Marvel from her wrist gauntlet, indicating that her technology and armor give her strength.
The delicate workmanship on Ashton’s dotted outlines up her chest and down her arms was also visible in this up-close picture of the suit’s design.
In The Marvels, who is Zawe Ashton’s character?
Zawe Ashton only makes a fleeting cameo in the debut of The Marvels video, giving fans nothing to go on, but Marvel has revealed she’ll be playing Dar-Benn, a gender-bent comic book character.
Throughout the history of comic books, several Accusers have wielded the staff Ashton is holding, which is referred to as the Universal Weapon. Dar-Benn may have assumed the role of the Accuser as a result of Ronan’s defeat in the past.
If so, given that it has been roughly ten years since the mantle was relinquished, it would make logical that she has the respect and veneration of the other Kree.
