Brie Larson’s MCU Powers May Be Removed In Captain Marvel 2

In the upcoming Captain Marvel sequel The Marvels, the hero Brie Larson may lose her superpowers due to the MCU.

In the first trailer for Captain Marvel 2, Monica Rambeau investigates a corrupted space jumper that forces her to switch places with Carol Danvers and Kamala Khan every time they activate her superpowers. This is a completely new entertaining adventure.

Marvel’s heroes appeared in plenty of hilarious and risqué scenes in the trailer, including the traditional MCU team-up against their new genderqueer nemesis.

The sequel’s main character will be drawn into such an exciting superpowered showdown for such an unusual concept. However, in the first trailer for The Marvels, Brie Larson was rarely seen doing anything.

Since Carol Danvers may already be losing her abilities in the MCU sequel, that could help explain a lot of what happens in Captain Marvel 2.

Will Carol’s superpowers be removed in Captain Marvel 2?

The Marvels, the final MCU movie of 2023, has Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers refusing to use her superpowers.

It’s possible that the Cosmic Avenger acts this way to avoid switching places with Monica Rambo or Kamala Khan, but it’s also possible that Captain Marvel loses her superhero abilities in The Marvels.

Captain Marvel’s focus in 2019 was the power Carol Danvers gained from the Space Stone and how the Kree wanted to possess it.

Carol was fitted with a device that could prevent Captain Marvel from using his superpowers because the Supreme Intelligence was unable to depower him.

The latest teaser for the MCU sequel shows the Kree sending a new Accuser after Captain Marvel, suggesting they may still be after the power she wielded thirty years later, despite Carol ultimately defeating the device and managing to escape from it. Kree claws.

Are Captain Marvel’s abilities a problem?

Captain Marvel may be one of the most powerful forces in the universe now that the Infinity Stones are no more. The Kree realize this, and no doubt still desire the power that Brie Larson’s MCU hero possesses.

Since Carol has only been on Earth a few times for no more than a day at a time, it seems unlikely that the Kree will be able to track her down since she scared them off in 1995.

There’s a good chance the Kree will plant the damaged jump point Monica is examining in the latest trailer in an effort to get Captain Marvel back. After all, Ronan probably used the same starting point when he said he’d come back for Carol.

In the trailer, Carol is seen fighting the new Accuser, but she doesn’t employ her abilities like she did when protecting Earth from Ronan and his army. Carol is not impressed when she accuses the villain in the same scenario where Monica and Kamala exchange and extend her powers.

The only people seen proceeding to switch places between characters so far are Monica and Kamala. For example, Carol traded places with Kamala mid-flight and ended up standing on Kamala’s kitchen counter when Kamala switched places with her using her bracelet.

The only time Captain Marvel is shown using her powers in the trailer is when Carol walks into the Khan house in the blink of an eye and you’ll miss it.

After switching places with Monica in a later scene, Kamala is shown wearing Monica’s bracelet, but Carol does not take Kamala’s place as she did earlier in the kitchen.

Does this mean that the location change only happens when both heroes use their powers simultaneously? No, it can’t be exact because neither Carol nor Kamala was using their own powers when they first switched places in the post-credits sequence at the end of Ms. Marvel.

With that in mind, it’s possible for Carol to lose her powers at some point in Captain Marvel 2, either voluntarily or as a result of being forced to. Since the Kree will return in the sequel for revenge, they may be responsible for depowering (again) the MCU’s most powerful superheroes.
