Bill Murray’s role in Ant-Man 3 has been revealed by Marvel.

As the release date of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania approaches, Bill Murray’s long-rumored role in the film has been confirmed.

Since the first reports of Bill Murray appearing in the MCU threequel, fans have been eager to learn who the Hollywood legend will be playing. Nothing has been confirmed about his Quantumania role, but it has been mentioned that it will be “critical” in the Marvel Studios epic.

The most recent rumors about the actor point to him playing the little-known Marvel Comics character Krylar, though this is all speculation at this point.

But, with Quantumania approaching, it’s time to reveal who Bill Murray is playing in the Marvel Universe.

The latest Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania press release has finally revealed Bill Murray’s role in the film.

The most recent marketing campaign revealed that Murray will play Lord Krylar in Ant-Man 3.

According to the press release, Krylar is the “governor of Axia,” a “bizarre and cushy community within the Quantum Realm.” Despite never appearing in a Marvel Studios project to date, it appears that “he and Janet [Van Dyne] are old acquaintances:”

“LORD KRYLAR is the governor of Axia, a strange and comfortable community in the Quantum Realm. Call him cowardly or self-centered, but Krylar relishes the high life that his position affords him—expensive meals, exotic cocktails, and first-rate transportation aboard his massive pleasure yacht. He and Janet appear to be old friends, but the details are hazy, and she prefers to keep them that way. Lord Krylar is played by Bill Murray.”

Many people will be wondering, “Who is Lord Krylar?” after hearing this news. And they are probably correct in their assessment.

According to the official Marvel Comics website, Krylar made one comic book appearance, appearing in a single issue of Incredible Hulk in July 1972.

On the page, the character works as an arms dealer on the planet K’ai in the subatomic realm known as the Microverse. This sounds suspiciously similar to a Quantum Realm that will be the focus of Marvel’s latest Paul Rudd-led blockbuster.

In a one-shot appearance, the Microversal arms dealer is stabbed by the villainous Pitll Pawob after attempting to test a dangerous weapon on the Hulk.

While Murray’s character will most likely have nothing to do with Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner/Hulk (for the time being), there are some details here that will most likely carry over from his brief stint with Marvel Comics.

Murray’s Lord Krylar “enjoys the high life,” according to the Quantumania character bio, implying that in addition to his duties as governor of Axia, he may also work as an arms dealer within the Quantum Realm.
