According to recent information, Austin Butler, the Elvis star, is being encouraged to play the Human Torch in Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four.
Butler is merely the most recent actor whose name has been mentioned in connection with the Fantastic Four, as Marvel Studios seeks to complete its version of the First Family of the super-powered brand.
Casting rumors for the Fantastic Four have been almost as persistent as reports of actors declaring their interest in participating in the MCU saga. Kevin Feige, the head of Marvel Studios, asserts that “no cast [is] currently on board” for the blockbuster directed by Matt Shakman, despite widespread rumors.
However, that won’t stop another name from making headlines because Elvis seems interested in playing a Fantastic Four member.

Austin Butler Turns Up the Heat
Austin Butler’s agent is attempting to convince Marvel Studios to give Butler consideration for the role of Johnny Storm, aka Human Torch, in the MCU, so it appears that another actor’s name has been thrown into the Fantastic Four ring.
While casting the leads for Marvel’s 2025 Fantastic Four film, insider Jeff Sneider of The Hot Mic podcast revealed he had heard Butler’s agents were “putting him up for Human Torch.”
Sneider continued, “All the actors in town want to be part of those two franchises,” citing X-Men and Fantastic Four as Marvel’s “two crown jewels coming up.”
How Effective Would Austin Butler Be as a Human Torch?
This is a very unique name to suggest for a Fantastic Four role, but it does have some potential. Butler has been working in Hollywood since he was a teenager, but his work on Elvis has only recently made him a household name.
Oscar nominations for performances like the young actor’s as the late great King of Rock and Roll have in the past attracted Marvel Studios’ attention.
And most people concur that Butler would likely do a great job as Johnny Storm (aka the Human Torch). He is perfect at playing the reckless heartbreaker character, which is essential when playing Marvel’s Man on Fire.
Naturally, there will be fierce competition for these Fantastic Four roles, and at this point, many names have either been fan-casted or made their intentions clear.
