Anthony Mackie’s costume revealed in Captain America 4 set photos
Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson from the production of Captain America 4 seen by @df_medias in blurry set photos. Sam Wilson rocked a new Captain America costume.
While he wears a blue suit, the actor can be seen sporting a gold Captain America emblem on his chest:
The photo was taken in Atlanta, Georgia, during the second MCU shooting.
Understanding the purpose of Sam Wilson’s new suit
Although the photo isn’t clear (as expected), Anthony Mackie’s new Captain America costume is perfectly suited for covert operations. It’s unclear why the character will get a new suit in the movie, but MCU heroes have a history of getting them when they appear on the big screen.
Sam Wilson will wear two costumes, just like Steve Rogers did in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Wilson received his iconic Captain America costume from the Wakandans during The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, complete with vibranium-infused wings. While it’s conceivable that his original outfit is still in the movie, this new blue and gold outfit may have been reserved for a specific mission.
The Serpent Society, a well-known antagonist to Captain America from the comics, is speculated to make its feature film debut.
The Wakandans or other allies of the character could have provided Sam Wilson with a new costume that would have given the crashed Avenger greater protection or resistance to poison.
The release of Captain America: New World Order is scheduled for May 3, 2024.
