Filming for Captain America 4 has already begun, and the stills have given fans a new look at the MCU continuity.
One of the unexpected reveals on set was the announcement that Sam Wilson, played by Anthony Mackie, will be donning a new Captain America suit that is significantly different from the ones he wore in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.
After an initial glimpse of the cape suit was vague, a quick video showed Mackie’s crashed Avenger in action against a formidable threat.

In a behind-the-scenes photo from filming for Captain America 4, Anthony Mackie reveals his new Captain America suit in all its glory.
The MCU actor shared a fun behind-the-scenes photo from the production with his co-star Harrison Ford on Instagram:

Why Sam’s Suit Change Is Represented By Captain America’s New Title
It’s unclear why Sam Wilson, played by Anthony Mackie, decided to wear a different outfit after getting an improved and cuter one at the end of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. However, he may have something to do with the “new world” the MCU will find in the movie.
As Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has already stated, Ross is Harrison Ford’s President of the United States during the events of the film. But given his current feud with Ross, there’s a good chance Sam will ditch the starry outfit.
The new outfit resembles Steve Rogers’ stealth outfit from Captain America: The Winter Soldier. In fact, Sam may have adapted Steve’s previous outfit to suit his needs.
Sam appears to be the President’s number one enemy, so perhaps the new Captain America is on the run, in which case wearing a stealth suit would be appropriate.
