When William Jackson Harper of A Good Place was cast in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, fans jumped ahead of themselves. However, a new image of Harper’s mystery persona has been released.
It was initially a fan-favorite choice for Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four, but it was immediately disregarded when it was revealed that Marvel’s first family was still being cast. He was eventually shown to be a member of a rebellion within the Quantum Realm battling against Kang the Conqueror.
Harper has been absent from all Ant-Man 3 trailers thus far, but an image of him and his character has now been published.

A New Character in Ant-Man 3
The new artwork of Quaz, played by William Jackson Harper in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, has been made public by Empire. In the Quantum Realm, he is portrayed as a telepath and freedom warrior who is outraged by Kang, played by Jonathan Majors, for his wrongdoings.
Harper’s Quaz is pictured beside Katy M. O’Brian’s Jentorra, the commander of the freedom warriors, in the publicly released image.
It’s William Jackson Harper, of course
With a beard, Harper undoubtedly has the appearance of a tough rebel fighter, but at this moment, little else is known about his personality.
Unlike Jentorra, Quaz is not a comic book character, yet the fact that he is telepathic is intriguing.
This would make Quaz the second telepath to emerge in the 616-universe after Wanda, excluding Patrick Stewart’s alternate-universe cameo as Charles Xavier in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
It will be interesting to see if and how Marvel Studios distinguishes his telepathy from Wanda’s and Xavier’s.
