Following a spectacular performance in Thor: Love and Thunder, Russell Crowe have hinted at more Marvel appearances.
In the Chris Hemsworth-starring MCU movie, Crowe played Zeus, King of the Olympians and ruler of Omnipotence City. Zeus may have appeared to be dead thanks to Thor’s lightning strike, but Love and Thunder’s post-credits scene revealed that he is still alive and prepared for retaliation.
In addition to his MCU role, Crowe has also been confirmed to appear in Kraven the Hunter by Sony Pictures in an unspecified capacity.

Russell Crowe Hints about Upcoming Marvel Role and Kraven Role
On the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast, Josh Horowitz questioned Russell Crowe about his experience working on the 2023 Kraven the Hunter film.
Crowe acknowledged that he had a terrific time working with director JC Chandor on Kraven the Hunter, remarking that “they’re pals” both on and off the set:
“Well, I mean, I got along very, very well with JC. And it’s quite simple for me to declare that we’re friends since we’ve dined together a few times in the past.
Crowe added that it was difficult to depict a “Russian” in the film, but that he is indeed one in it:
“I thus had a lot of fun developing that for him as a Russian. That was difficult. I once did it. I once performed a Russian accent on Saturday Night Live, and since I didn’t give it any thought, it was perhaps the worst Russian accent ever performed on television. I simply leaped over the edge.”
Crowe continued by saying that the key characters in Kraven find his involvement to be “significant”:
Yet, I’m not sure what to expect from that movie. I don’t believe my part in the movie is particularly important. a key part in the main characters’ backstories, although not necessarily in the main film.
Kraven Hunter’s plot is still a secret, but the seasoned actor did hint that it will be “unexpectedly grim.”
When asked by Horowitz if he is optimistic about an MCU return, Crowe responded that the post-credits scene from Thor: Love and Thunder suggested that viewers will see more of Zeus and Hercules:
“Well, no one has mentioned anything to me, but, I mean, that appears to be the gist of the last one, right? But I’m not entirely sure.
The actor also had great things to say about Chris Hemsworth and director Taika Waititi of Thor 4:
“Yes, look… Take advantage of the chance to work with Taika Waititi if you’re a young actor. It’s great fun, he’s an inventive genius, but he’s also a really nice guy, and I also… Before working with him, I didn’t know Chris Hemsworth at all, and I was pleasantly surprised by how talented he is as an actor. He also has excellent comedic skills, guy. He’s just a hoot. He’s also an extremely friendly and welcoming guy, so we just ran with that. At the movie theater, you see this enormous, lavish set, but in real life, it’s just Chris and Myself, along with a few cardboard boxes smeared in blue goo, you know?
Who Is the Kraven the Hunter Character Played by Russell Crowe?
Russell Crowe’s most recent remarks may have validated the speculation that he will play Kraven’s father in Sony’s forthcoming Marvel film, especially after he said that his role is significant “in the background of the major protagonists.”
In Marvel Comics, Kraven is the son of a nobleman who fled to America when the February Revolution wiped out the Russian nobility.
Although Kraven’s father wasn’t given much attention in the comics, it’s likely that he will be included in the movie’s main plot.
Meanwhile, Crowe’s assertion that Zeus will make another appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe seems obvious given that he survived, especially in light of what Thor did to him.
Then again, a future conflict featuring Thor and Hercules with Zeus by his side might be explored in a potential Thor 5.
On October 6, Kraven the Hunter will make its theatrical debut.
